Breathing and The Body

Regaining control of breathing problems like asthma or allergies require accurate medical diagnosis and effective treatment. Daily control is vital for living a healthy, active productive life.
Causes of breathing problems come under various forms; when a body is cold, trouble breathing because of occasional bouts of acute sinuses. The inflammation causes sinuses to continue for more than a week and then finally the congested sinuses drain and stop being chronic sinusitis. Many breathing problems are chronic or long term. Symptoms are runny nose, nasal congestion, itchy, watery eyes, chest congestion, cough, wheezing, labored breathing and shallow breathing.
The biggest pathway for viruses and allergens to enter the lungs is the nasal passage. The nose and sinuses are associated with many lung disorders, and can trigger reflexes and cause asthma attacks which go hand in hand with allergies. Breathing problems are associated with people because of COPD chronic obstructive pulmonary disease which cause emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Problems come from lung cancer, tuberculosis, pneumonia, and lung diseases related to HIV/AIDS.
Doctors diagnose breathing problems by performing a physical  exam, taking a patient history and family health history. Pulmonary function tests & lung function tests used to assess lung function in people with asthma; the spirometry and a test known as a methacholine challenge.
Spirometry is a simple breathing test and a methacholine challenge test. How much and how fast one can blow air out the lungs. It is used to determine the amount of breathing airway obstruction. X-rays are taken to see the structures inside your chest, lungs, heart and bones. A chest X-ray is a good way to diagnose pneumonia and coupled with a CT-scan. A breathing test or allergy tests are the scratch test, allergy blood tests, a challenge test or the prick technique are all tests which are used to determine the causes of allergy & breathing problems. Breathing problems are treated by avoiding substances that cause or triggers the symptoms. Avoidance of triggers is the number one way to control allergies and asthma. Wear a dust mask when doing housework or yard work, avoiding a furry pet, washing bed linens at least once a week, staying indoors during peak pollen times, changing the filter on air conditioner frequently.
Medications treat breathing problems; antihistamines and decongestants make it easier to breathe. Additionally, inhaled steroids, allergy shots help reduce the primary inflammation in the airways and ease or block airway obstruction and excessive mucus production. Asthma triggers include: Viral infections (cold or flu), pollen, pet dander, mold spores, dust mites, cockroaches, irritating pollutants in the air, fragrances and fumes, smoke, food allergies & even exercise. An accurate diagnosis is needed before one can treat and prevent breathing problems.
