This bird belongs to a group of song birds called thrush. Many are plain brown with pale or spotted underparts. They remain small or medium sized 10 - 35 centimeters long.
Robins, wheatears, blackbirds & nightingales all are in the thrush group. Nesting areas for these birds are trees, parks, gardens wooden regions. The nests are often lined with mud. Some dive bomb from their nests to defend themselves against predators. The Mistle Thrush in Europe is one such bird.
They search for worms, insects, snails, fruit and berries for food. Those in Northern Europe migrate. during the winter, south and west. Song thrusts deliver their songs at the top of a small bush. They are recognized for the anvils, a rock, used for the purpose of breaking or smashing shells of snails for food. It is known for its melodious songs.
